As deputy director, Trey works with the director on long-term planning and oversight of key TRSL functions and operations. He serves as agency head in the director’s absence, works with legislators, and directly supervises the retirement, employer services and human resources departments.

Trey joined TRSL in 2021 as executive counsel. Prior to joining TRSL, he worked as the chief risk officer and special counsel for the Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System (LASERS).  He previously served as an assistant attorney general in the Public Finance and Contracts Section for the Louisiana Department of Justice.

Trey holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting and juris doctorate degree from Louisiana State University.
